Minnie Coats

Minnie Lee Coats, 102, lived a long and wonderful life until the very end. She was born on June 2, 1917 in Winterfield, Texas to William Lafayette Alford and Minnie Ethel (Keith) Alford. Mrs. Coats was living in Terrell at the time of her death. She was a fun loving lady who enjoyed her fishing, dominos, walking, crochet, bingo, cooking and spoiling her family rotten. Minnie Lee was the tenth of thirteen children and the last to survive. Mrs. Coats was a member of Winterfield Baptist Church in Winterfield, Texas. She married the love of her life Aubrey Lewis Coats on April 4, 1937 in Hopkins County and they enjoyed 40 years of marriage until his passing. Minnie Lee was preceded in death by her husband Aubrey Lewis Coats, 3 sons Richard Lewis Coats, Robert Lee (Bobby) Coats, David A. Coats, a son-in-law Larry Earnheart and 3 grandchildren. Minnie Lee is survived by her daughter Barbara Kelly and husband Jerry, daughter Annette Clark and husband Jim, daughter Janette Earnheart, 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
