Mozella Parr

Laudie Mozella Sparks Parr, age 84, of Scroggins, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1940 to farming parents, Bill and Margie Keener Sparks.

Mozella, being the oldest of seven children, helped raise her brothers and sisters. She was loved dearly by her siblings who often referred to Mozella as a second mother. She was no stranger to hard work and responsibility. As each sibling became of farming age, they went to work in the fields. Mozella was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She retired from housekeeping at Christus Mother Frances in Winnsboro. She enjoyed spending time working her word search books and playing bingo.

Mozella is survived by her husband, Mathew Parr; daughter, Becky Anderson and husband Keith; son, Bruce Parr; granddaughters, Robin and husband Rowan, and Callan and husband Ryan; great-grandson, Nathanael; brothers, Sidney Sparks and wife Kathy and Lewis Sparks and wife Debbie; sisters, Janice Newsome and husband Roy and Mary Rogers. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and extended family members.

Mozella was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Shannon Dale Parr and Jimmie Parr; and brothers, Butch Sparks and Jerry Sparks.
