Nadine Gilliam was born in Winnsboro, Texas on March 25, 1923 t othe late Lorenzie and Lessie Boles. She went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2008 at the age of 85. After graduating from Winnsboro High School she settled in Galveston, where she lived, worshipped, and worked until retirment in 1985. She married Mr. Travis Gilliam on July 2, 1942 and they had two children, Novis LaVerne and Gerry Don. Nadine was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Broadway Baptist Church, and University Baptist Church in Galveston. After retirement from the Sears Credit Department in Galveston, she and Travis retired in Winnsboro and were members of Pine Street Baptist Church. She pursued an ongoing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She loved, honored, and greatly enriched the life of her husband, encouraging his leadership within their family and church. She nurtured her children, shaping and molding them. Nadine always created a warm and loving enviroment for family and friends. She spoke with wisdom and faithful instruction as she encouraged others and developed Godly friendships. She was a faithful steward of the time and money God entrusted to her. Her parents, siblings, husband, and son preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Novis Winkler of Tyler; grandchildren, Eddie Winkler and his wife, Amy of Tyler; Shannon Avey and her husband Eddie of Canyon Lake; Tammy Sayles and her husband, Rodney of Canyon Lake; Phillip Gilliam of Spring; great grandchildren, Matthew Winkler; Colton and Aubrey Ave; Kenzie and Braxdon Sayles. She is dearly loved by her uncle, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins in both the Boles and Gilliam families.
