Nell Johnson

Mrs. Nell Johnson of Mineola, Texas passed away January 23, 2007 at the age of 89. She was born June 9, 1917 in Iago, Texas to the late Leroy Pound and the late Maude (Bullock) Pound. She lived in Mineola for the last 15 years and was a member of the Sand Flat Missionary Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher and had a love for learning and reading. She attended East Central State Teachers College in Ada, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her first husband, William Felix Basham, by seven brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter. She is survived by husband, Carl C. Johnson of Mineola; son, Jerry Basham and wife Tami of Austin, Texas; step-son, Carroll Johnson and wife Evelyn of Sherwood, Arkansas; daughter, Mary Fancher and husband Ken of Mineola, Texas; step-daughter, Glorice Jones of El Paso, Texas; brother, Glenn S. Pound of LaJolla, California; sister, Mary Simon of Colorado Springs, Colorado; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
