Norman Travis Caviness

Mr. Norman Travis Caviness passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009 at the age of 70. He was born on September 13, 1939 to the late Lloyd Vicers Caviness and Pearl E. Duty Caviness. Mr. Caviness married the former Tamara Gayle Stelck on December 22, 1987. He was a truck driver and a produce farmer. He was well known for his purple hull peas and for the produce stand he operated in Sulphur Springs, but most importantly he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Wanda Sue Gordon Caviness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tamara Gayle Caviness of Sulphur Springs; sons and daughters-in-law, Travis Lee and Cindy Caviness of Sulphur Springs and Jonathan Ray and Amanda Caviness of Yantis; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Sue and Terry Thompson of Yantis, Karen Belinda and Kenny Dockens of Italy and Charity Gayle and Ryan Waters of Houston; brothers, Thomas Lloyd Caviness of Longview, Bobby Glen Caviness of Scroggins, Jerry Dow Caviness of Winnsboro, Donald Gene Caviness of Gladewater and Ronald Dean Caviness of Hooks; sisters, Betty sue Wright of Winnsboro, Barbara Lynn Coker of Como, Leta Jean Smith of Hooks and Sharon Ruth Webb of Borger; his very loving mother-in-law, Ruth Stelk of Desoto; fifteen adored grandchildren that he nicknamed, Joshlin April "Goober" Fuller, Travis Lee "Boo-Boo" Caviness, Laura Elizabeth "Lil Lo" Caviness, Scott Clifford "Whiskers" Caviness, Sarah Renea "Beauty Queen" Caviness, Hannah Elizebeth "Miss Molly" Caviness, Justin Leon "Rooster" Thompson, Christopher Lee "Red" Thompson, Jordan Travis "Drawers Leg" Thompson, Terry Ray "T-Bone" Thompson, Cory Wayne "Cod Sack" Thompson, Ashley Renee "Sissy" Boone, Heather Nicole "Kinky" Boone, Faith Danielle "Sally Goodin" Waters and Ryan Christopher "Cotten" Waters.
