Norman Roland Lafon

Norman Roland LaFon, age 83, died Monday, December 17, 2012 in Quitman, Texas. He was born on Monday, November 18, 1929 in Morgan, Texas to the late Odell and Lillie Mae LaFon. He served in the United States Naval Reserve and attended Central Baptist Church of Mesquite. He was an electrician by trade and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Oletha LaFon of Alba, Texas; three sons, Roy Glen LaFon and wife Rhonda of Alba, Gary Don LaFon and wife Sharon of Mineola, Texas, and Dale Wade LaFon and wife June of Van Buren, Arkansas; two brothers, Charles LaFon of Newport, Texas and Jearl LaFon of Lake Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Dell Draper and husband Billy Joe of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Patricia Cather and husband Bob of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Justin Kroening, Amanda Dollison and Cody LaFon; four great-grandchildren, Summer Barnhart, Zach Kroening, Colton LaFon Dollison and Julia Ray Sherman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. LaFon will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 6 - 8 PM at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.

Funeral services will be held at Northside Baptist Church in Mineola, on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Bro. Joe Adams officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
