Novis Underwood

Services for Novis N. Underwood, 85, Tyler, longtime Golden resident, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Beaty Funeral Home chapel, Mineola, with the Rev. Edwin L. Lewis officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.

Mrs. Underwood died March 3, 2010, in Tyler. She was born June 2, 1924, in Yantis. She lived in Tyler for nearly three years and prior to that lived in Golden for many years. She was a housewife and member of First Baptist Church in Golden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Hamrick and Viola Fitzgerald Hamrick; by her husband, Glenn Deward Underwood; and by five brothers and sisters.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sandi Weeks, Holly Lake Ranch; brother, Wayne Hamrick; sisters, Faye Sandlin, Nancy Ables and Juanita Taylor; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Keith Brown, Jimmy Fitzgerald, Stan Smith, Chris Puckett, Colby Bryan and Sonny Riddle.

Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.
