Omer Lawrence Douthitt Ii

Omer L. Douthitt II, 80, of Mineola, Texas, passed away peacefully and entered into Glory on June 7, 2024. He was born on August 6, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Omer L. Douthitt and Loyce Crawford Douthitt.

Omer proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, dedicating over 20 years of his life to military service before receiving an honorable discharge. Following his naval career, he pursued his passion for criminal justice and attended Kilgore College. Omer later served his community as a respected police officer, contributing his skills to both the Hawkins and Mineola police departments.

Known for his industrious spirit and boundless energy, Mr. Douthitt was always engaged in his pursuits. He found great joy in working on his farm alongside his beloved wife, Cindy, where they created a haven of productivity and tranquility. Omer was cherished by his family and friends for his warmth, his dedication, and his unwavering sense of duty. His legacy of service and commitment will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A private memorial service to honor and celebrate Omer's life will be held at a later date at the Douthitt family home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of choice in Omer's memory.
