Oscar Lynn Shipp Jr.
MINEOLA - Graveside services for Oscar Lynn Shipp Jr., 67, Mineola, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James Fowler officiating. Arrangements under direction of Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola.
Mr. Shipp died Sept. 13, 2008, in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Aug. 25, 1941, in Mineola, to the late Oscar Lynn Sr. and Obie Bruner Ship. Me. Ship graduated from East Texas State University and served in the Navy. He retired as a railroad engineer from Cotton Belt and Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mineola and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Shipp, Mineola; sisters, Dianne Bishop and Suzette Wright, both of Mineola; nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
If desired, memorials may be made in the name of Jessie and Margie Whitis to Scholarship Fund at Mary Hardin Baylor.
