Peggy Jean Simonek

Peggy Jean Simonek of Mineola, Texas joined the Angels in Heaven on August 5, 2020. Peggy was born on July 24, 1957 in Longview, Texas to Russell and Minnie Lee Sutton. She was a beloved lady who in turn loved her family and grandchildren with all of her heart. Mrs. Simonek enjoyed travelling the United States with her husband Freddie, listening to music, especially the music of Bob Seger, Lynard Skynard and other similar artists. Peggy worked for the florist in Mineola many years ago and was a manager of the former Buds in Mineola. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Helen Brunner and brother-in-law Ralph Brunner; sister Rita Frazier and brother-in-law Tommy Frazier. Peggy is survived by her husband Freddie Simonek of Mineola; son Chris Simonek of Beaumont; son Joey Simonek of Mineola; grandchildren Dalton Simonek of Whitehouse, Bailey Simonek of Henderson, Nevada, Weylan Simonek of Jacksonville and Emma Simonek of Jacksonville; 2 great-grandchildren Kip and Gus Simonek; brother C.R. Sutton and his wife Nancy of Wortham, Texas; sister Linda Stout and husband Larry of Winnsboro, sister Nancy Nichols and husband Gerald of Tillamook, Oregon and too many friends to list. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, August 9th at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. following the visitation with Bro. Steven Dugger officiating. Interment will follow at Grice Cemetery in Upshur County.
