Mrs. Peggy Venice Turner passed from this life on February 25, 2014 into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Venice was born on July 5, 1913, to John Franklin and Lillie Dale Crone Neighbors, in Como, Texas. Venice and her twin sister Eunice were a joyful surprise. A native of East Texas, her life was filled with family and friends. She married Jewel "Dude" Marlin Turner, December 24, 1935. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before his death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, seven sisters and three brothers, one son-in-law, four brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Survivors include her children and daughters-in-law, Dude Marlin and Judy Turner, Frank and Pat Turner, Mike and Mickey Turner and Polly Swatsell; brothers, Don Neighbors, Lon and wife Pat Neighbors; sister, Erma Helsel;10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and scores of nieces, nephews and many friends. Venice was a life long member of the Pickton United Methodist Church, served in the workforce for many years as well as being actively involved in her community.
