R. Jack Durham

R. Jack Durham 95 left this earth and flew to Jesus on June 13th, 2022, from his home at Holly Lake Ranch. Jack was born in Richardson Texas on August 26, 1926. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served his country until the end of WWII. He married Helen Jean Barnett of Plano on February 2, 1945, and they were married for 67 years. He spent 47 years with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company Southwest Division in Dallas. He opened Ben Franklin Printing in Dallas in 1976 and retired in 1984. He moved to Mineola in 2003. Paw Paw, as he was affectionally know to family was well known in the community as a devoted servant to those around him. He started delivering Meals on Wheels at the ripe old age of 86 and made deliveries for 6 years. His bountiful home garden was always producing delicious vegetables for friends and family to enjoy. A beloved husband, great father, wonderful grandfather, dear friend, avid reader, delightful storyteller, jokester, the best pickle maker, and a stranger to no one, he leaves a legacy of love and service to others that his loved ones will always remember and treasure.

Paw Paw's life was like a really great book that you don't want to end. He will be deeply missed.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Helen Jean and grandson, Bradley Rauscher.

He is survived by son, Larry Durham and wife Helen of Plano; daughter, Lynda Rauscher and husband David of Holly Lake Ranch; grandson, Bryan Rauscher and wife Julie of Sanger; granddaughter in law, Kimberly Rauscher of Lindale; grandsons, Joshua Durham and wife Sarah of Little Elm, Jared Durham and wife Lindsey of Plano, Brent Durham of The Colony; great grandchildren, Hope Rauscher Martinez, Paige Rauscher, Lillian, Stoffel, William and Heidi Rauscher, Samuel and Nora Durham, Jackson, Willow and Knox Durham; great great grandchild Leonardo Martinez and several nieces.
