Raymond Michael Miller

Raymond (Michael) Miller, 74, of Sulphur Springs, TX, passed away on October 5, 2024. Born on May 5, 1950, Michael was a devoted husband to Tammy Miller, whom he married February 23, 1980, loving father to two sons, and a giving member of his community.


Michael graduated from Como Pickton High School in 1968 and later earned degrees in technology and business administration from East Texas State University. He was the proud owner and operator of Bright Star Floors in Sulphur Springs, TX for 16 years, where he dedicated many years to serving his community with great pride and workmanship.


A man of faith, Michael was a member of the Pickton Methodist Church. His beliefs guided him throughout his life and inspired those around him.


Michael had a passion for sports, being a lifelong fan of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks. His hobbies also included fishing, reading, wood­ working, playing dominos, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family and grand-cat Gus. These simple pleasures brought great joy to Michael and those fortunate to join him.


He is survived by his wife, Tamara (Tammy) Stackhouse Miller; sons, Matthew Miller and his wife Anna, and Cody Miller, all of Sulphur Springs, TX; sister, Lenise Miller Boseman of Pickton, TX; mothers-in-law Sandra Griffin from Conway, AR, and Marilyn Metzger from Greenwood, AR, sisters-in-law, Kimberly Pringle and her husband Rick of Benton, AR, Suzanne Dodge of Conway, AR, and brothers-in­ law, Mark Oliver and his wife Becky of O'Fallon, MO, and Michael Oliver and his wife Renee of Greenwood, AR. Michael also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, James Raymond and Nola Frances Miller, brother-in-law Mitchell "Scott" Stackhouse, and fathers-in-law Jerry Stackhouse, Kenneth Griffin, and Don Metzger.


In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Pickton Methodist Church and Cypress Basin Hospice in memory of Michael. His generous spirit and dedication to his community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
