Richard Alvin Gilliss

Richard A. Gilliss (Dick), 87 of Mineola, TX gained his wings early Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021. He passed away peacefully at his home. Dick was born in Oklahoma on August 24, 1934. Dick was a father, grandfather and brother. He loved to go on fishing trips with his friends, making fishing lures and driving his tractor around. He was a true definition of a hard-working man. Dick loved staying home with his wife watching T.V. Dick was also a true believer of the Lord. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Elaine Gilliss of Mineola, TX, sons; Roy Gillis of Arkansas, Ray Gilliss and wife of California, Richard Gilliss, Jr. (Richie) of Willis Point, TX, Douglas Bellah Jr. and wife Nicole of South Carolina, daughters; Marcia Morgan and husband Jerry of Oklahoma, Donna Davis of Oklahoma, Cindy Workman of Oklahoma, Laina Bobbitt of Vidor, TX and Angela Willett of Vidor, TX. Dick has 16 grandkids and 9 great grand kids and 2 great great grand kids. He greets in Heaven his father Dudley Gilliss and mother Gertrude Gilliss and his sister. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Beaty Funeral Home-Mineola with Bro. Billy Cooper officiating.
