Richard C Kelley

August 24, 1948 — March 6, 2026

Richard C. Kelley, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Winnsboro, Texas, on March 6, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on August 24, 1948, in Denton County, Texas, Richard lived a life filled with adventure and love.

After graduating from high school, Richard proudly served his country in the Air Force from February 17, 1969, until his discharge on October 14, 1970. Following his time in the military, he embarked on a career as a truck driver in the transportation industry, where he spent many years earning a living on the open roads.

Richard was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, often finding solace and joy in the great outdoors. His love for nature was matched only by his love for his family. He is survived by his daughter Amanda Jean McCartney and her husband, Rick; sons Richard Carl Kelley, Jr. and Christian Jacob Kelley; brother, Stephen Kelley and a remarkable legacy of 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who will carry his spirit with them always.

Family and friends are invited to join together for a graveside service at Dover Cemetery on March 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM, as we celebrate Richard's life and the memories that will forever live on in our hearts.

Richard will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering love for those around him. Though he has left this world, his stories and spirit will remain alive in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Kelley and Charlotte Kelley; wife, Linda Kelley; son, Johnathon Arron Kelley, and sister, Carol Woodley
