Ricky Alan Moses

Ricky Alan Moses, age 56, of Mineola, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013. He was born on Wednesday, August 29, 1956 in Colorado. He moved to Texas with his family at the age of 7 where he spent the remainder of his life in Mineola. He was employed by Trinidad Benham Company for 30 years and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Ricky was extremely loving and proud of his family. He was a very involved father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He spent ten summers coaching his son’s baseball teams as well as volunteering as an umpire and serving on the Mineola Youth Foundation Board of Directors. Ricky was at his proudest while sitting in the stands of a Mineola Yellow Jackets baseball game, supporting his sons.

When his two grandsons were born, they instantly became the apples of his eye. You could find him most weekends on adventures through the woods with two “Little Buckaroos” in tow. To these two little boys, Pappa was King.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Bonnie; and a sister Pam.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rhonda Moses; two sons, Jared Moses and Joshua Moses and wife Ashley; grandsons, Austin and Andrew; brothers, Gary and Stanley; a special relationship with niece Angela as well as nieces Josie, Jackie, Jennifer and Tracey; nephews, Clay, Jason, and Todd; all of whom he loved as his own children; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Fred Morrow officiating.
