Rita Marks

Rita Joyce Marks, 75, passed away on December 2, 2019. Rita was born on September 12, 1944 in Winnsboro to Ulyss Grant Attaway and Lena May (Kennedy) Attaway. Mrs. Marks was a lifelong resident of Winnsboro and had worked for Kendon's in Winnsboro for 22 years. She loved collecting and dropping a fishing hook in the water. Even though Rita never had kids of her own, she raised numerous nieces, nephews and other children who loved her as a mom and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Jimmy Overstreet, second husband Ronnie Marks, brother Buddy Attaway, sisters Billie Attaway and Mary Bearden. Rita is survived by brother Leroy Attaway and his wife Barbara, sister Dorothy Dixon and numerous nieces and nephews.
