It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Duane Epps, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on October 17, 2026, at the age of 71. Duane was born on August 9, 1955, in Longview, Texas, and spent his later years in Mineola, Texas, where he found joy in life's simple pleasures and embraced his role as a loving family man.
Duane graduated from WW Samuell High School in 1973 and went on to pursue his passion for pharmacy. He completed his undergrad requirements at East Field Community College and earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Houston in 1980. For many years, Duane practiced as a dedicated pharmacist, contributing his expertise to Texas Oncology and Walmart, where he touched countless lives with his compassionate care.
Duane was a man of many interests. He had a deep appreciation for gardening and carpentry, often finding solace and satisfaction in working with his hands. A true enthusiast of storytelling and adventure, he treasured the worlds of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Marvel, and he cherished the magic of Renaissance festivals. Above all, Duane was a devoted family man, who adored being "Pops" to his grandchildren-Hannah Epps, Jake Chaney, and Coast Arrington. He took great joy in sharing his love for God's word and guiding his family in faith.
Duane is survived by his beloved wife, Loraine Epps; his children, Alex Epps, Andrew Epps and Rebekah Arrington along with their wives, Crystal, Clarissa and Macie; sister, Lisa Harris, and brother-in-law, Mike Harris as well as his brother-in-law, Claude Webb, sister-in-law, Susie Webb; also including his nieces, nephews and many cousins.
