Robert H. Johnson

Robert H. "Squirrel" Johnson, formerly of Mesquite, passed away, Friday, February 1, 2008, at the age of 64. He was born on July 5, 1943 to the late Roy and Bertha Brandler Johnson in Dallas. He was a retired teacher and golf coach for Mesquite ISD; and a member of Eastridge Park Christian church of Mesquite. Two brothers, Billy and Jarell Johnson, preceded him in death. His wife, Janie Chambers Johnson of Holly Lake Ranch; one son, Ryan Johnson of Dallas; two sisters, Wynell Riggs and husband Charley of Scurry, and Nita Johnson of Terrell survive him. Arrangements are under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home of Winnsboro; he will be lying in state on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; graveside services will be held at Holly Tree Cemetery in Holly Lake Ranch at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 5, 2008; a memorial service will follow at Eastridge Park Christian Church in Mesquite at 4:00 pm.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Central Christian Church of Winnsboro renovation fund.
