Robert Douglas Laney

Robert Douglas Laney, age 73, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 in Quitman, Texas. He was born on Monday, May 24, 1937 in Pittsburg, Texas to the late John and Carrie Laney. He lived in Mineola, Texas for 21 years and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. He was the Vice-President of Ramey Water Supply and a member of the Bass Club in Pittsburg. He served his country in both the Army and the National Guard.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Elaine Laney; and two sisters, Lillie Loving and Maggie Richardson.

He is survived by his fiancée, Nancy Boyd of Mineola; two daughters, Judy Walters and husband Jason of Mineola; Jan Webb and husband Bruce also of Mineola; one brother, James Laney and wife Paula of Longview, Texas; one sister, Frances Laney Boyd of Mineola; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Monts and wife Linda and Kenneth Davis and wife Dianne; and 5 grandchildren, Emilee Davis, Callie Walters, Laney Webb, Gunner Walters, and Lillee Webb.
