Robert Phil Newby

Mr. Robert Phil Newby passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the age of 78. He was born on February 8, 1933 to the late Euthal Earl Newby and Nell Hathcox Newby. Mr. Newby served in the U.S. Army, was a mason and a member of the Lake Fork Baptist Church. Mr. Newby married the former Verna Mae Hooker on March 3, 1957 and she preceded him in death on September 29, 2007. He was also preceded death by a son, Robert Wayne Newby and one brother, Euthal Earl Newby, Jr. Survivors include his wife Aline Allen Newby of Yantis; son, Robert Paul Newby of Sulphur Bluff; daughters, Janet Elaine Kaufman of McKinney, Teresa Kay Strayhorn of McKinney and Mary Lisa Webb of Prairie Grove, AR; brother, Billy Wayne Newby of Mesquite; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
