Roy Donald Allen

Roy D. Allen, 89, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away with his loving family by his bedside on August 3, 2023. Mr. Allen was born on September 23, 1933, in the Martin Springs community in Hopkins County. Roy graduated from Winnsboro High School and retired from the oilfield having worked for Winnsboro Well Service. He was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church. Mr. Allen's favorite passions were fishing, hunting, and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Anna Allen; wife Peggy (Brown) Allen in 2017; brother Billy Byrd Allen; sister Anna Early. Mr. Allen is survived by his daughters Linda Whitehurst (Lee), Vicky Rogers (Frank), and Tammy Duffield; sons Michael Allen (Kim) and Vernon Allen (Belinda); 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
