Roy A. Ayers

Roy A. Ayers passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 at the age of 91. He was born in Franklin County on November 28, 1916 to the late William Marion and Maudie Rhoades Ayers. He was a retired farmer and a baptist. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorayne Winkle Ayers on November 27, 2000; a daughter, Brenda Joyce Ayers on June 8, 1958; one brother, Otis Ayers; one sister, Nona Tucker. He is survived by two sons, Paul Ayers and wife Donna of Atlanta, Texas, Larry Dale Ayers of Pittsburg; two daughters, Linda Gail Mitchell of Winnsboro, Marsha Ann Kull and husband Mike of Midland; one brother, Elton Ayers of Winnsboro; two sisters, Allie Buck of Winnsboro, Delma Drennan of Winnsboro; ten grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
