Ruby Ellen Harrison

Mrs. Ruby Ellen Underwood Harrison was born February 19, 1924, to George W. and Gertrude Dugger Underwood. Ruby left this life on November 21, 2014, at the age of 90. She outlived her parents and five siblings; Rosalie, Opal, Jessie, Leslie, and Robert. Mrs. Ruby grew up in the Alba area and attended Pleasant Ridge school. She married rather young at the age of 15, to Ferrell E. Harrison on December 2, 1939. They were married 59 years prior to Ferrell's death in 1999. Ruby is survived by daughters, June Ragsdale and husband Arlon, Norma Jackson and Mary Harrison; six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces. Mrs. Harrison was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Winnsboro, she taught Sunday School, served as Woman's Ministries Leader, and church secretary-treasurer for many years. She coordinated hundreds of luncheons and dinners for the church and community groups. It was never too hot nor cold for her ladies to hold an Autumn Trails Sidewalk Sale to raise funds for their many missions projects. She also coordinated the making of hundreds of quilts for missions and others. Ruby will be remembered by her love for the Lord, her church and family.
