Russell Allen "Rusty" Hall

Russell Allen Hall, affectionately known as "Rusty," passed away on January 28, 2025, releasing his spiritual being to the next chapter. He was born on December 4, 1968, in Waco, Texas, and spent much of his early life in that area. Rusty was a proud 1987 graduate of Meridian High School and later pursued his studies at Texas State Technical College in Waco.

Rusty had a vibrant personality and a heart full of joy. A lifelong fan of NASCAR, he was a die-hard supporter of Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and his heart beat loud and proud for the Dallas Cowboys. Whether cheering on his teams or telling a good joke, Rusty never failed to bring a smile to those around him. He found joy in family vacations, whether boating on the lake, riding ATVs, or grilling up his famous lip-smacking ribs. He also had a deep love for chocolate milk—he was truly a connoisseur.

An avid history buff and passionate political enthusiast, Rusty could always be counted on for a lively discussion on history, politics, and everything in between, especially if you were brave enough to engage. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed cutting a rug on the dance floor with friends and family. His talent for building, tinkering, and problem-solving was unmatched, and he made a living-owning and operating Hot Controls, an electrical controls business, where his hands-on skills were put to great use.

Rusty leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his father, Allen Hall III; his mother, Ethel Roe; his daughters, Morgan Cieri and husband Eric, Gracie Krohn and husband Matthew, and Sarah Hall; his granddaughter, Bentlee Cieri; his grandson, Tatum Krohn; his brother, Chad Hall and wife Lisa; his sister, Casa Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who considered him family.

Russell is also survived by Sonya Whitaker Hall, his wife of 26 years. They are best friends to this day.

Rusty’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
