Ruth Schellon Meek, age 63, was born into heaven on Saturday April 5, 2008, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born October 18, 1944 in Clarendon, Texas to William Earl "Gump" and Vonnie Barker. She attended Groom High School and graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration on May 18, 1969. She taught school at Amarillo Independent School District for twenty one years.

She lived in Amarillo for 38 years prior to retiring in 1999 to her cabin at Holly Lake Ranch, Texas.

Schellon served as a member of Steven Ministries at Holly Tree Chapel. Her other hobbies included playing golf with her husband, family and friends.

Schellon is survived by her husband Gerald Owen Meek, her three sons Todd and wife Shanae, Laine and wife Laura, and Jason; her mother, Vonnie Barker; her siblings Lynn Barker and Carla Reed; her grandchildren, Hayden, Tyler, Mason and Miles; numerous aunts & uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews; and many friends.

A special "Thank You" goes out to all the friends of Holly Lake Ranch for ministering to the family through prayers, food, housing and arrangements. You are truly a blessing from God.
