Ruth Inez Sloan

Ruth Cruse Sloan, age 91, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 in Quitman, Texas. She was born on Monday, February 28, 1921 in Alba, Texas to the late Henry Dott and Eva Odella Cruse. She was retired from Mineola Federal Savings and Loan where she served as Vice-President. She was a member of Golden United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, H. F. (Shorty) Sloan; a son, Max Sloan; two brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth Sloan of Bogata, Texas; a daughter, Kay Plunk of Grand Prairie, Texas; seven grandchildren, Scott Sloan, Steve Sloan, Stuart Sloan, Christy Benjamin, Greg Leeman, Brian Leeman and Samantha Williams; twelve great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola, Texas with Rev. Fred Morrow officiating.
