Sammie Clara Albright

Sammie (Smith) Albright, 88 of Shreveport, Louisiana, formerly of Magnolia, Arkansas died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Willis Knighton Pierremont Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Sammie was born June 18, 1924 in Mineola, Texas to the late Samuel Morgan Smith, Sr. and Clara Mae (Wagoner) Smith. She and her husband A.O. Albright were the owners of Albright Super Market for 50 years. She taught Sunday school at Central Baptist Church in Magnolia and was a longtime member of the Koran Baptist Church in Doyline, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband A.O. Albright; sons Howard Albright, Michael Albright; brothers Samuel Smith, Kenny Smith; and sister Jaqueline French.

She is survived by her son Rev. Herb Albright and wife Shirley of Jefferson City, Missouri; daughters Jane Jameson and husband John of Canton, Texas, Sherry Leach and husband Jack of Shreveport, Louisiana; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, along with many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4th in Mineola, Texas at the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Worsham officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Ken Smith, Kelly Smith, Bud Browning, Harris Zachariades, Jeffrey Leach, and Jason Leach. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Albright, Bryan Hlavaty and Todd Hlavaty.
