Sammy Reed Tiner

Mr. Sammy Reed Tiner died Thursday, December 31, 2015, at his home in Mineola at the age of 68. He was born Thursday, December 11, 1947 in Mineola to the late Sam Tiner and Helen Jarman Crawford.

Mr. Tiner was a Chief Petty officer 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and was the owner and operator of Sam’s Auto and Body Shop since 1978.

He was preceded in death by his parent; his step-father, Aaron Crawford; son, Jeffrey Reed Tiner and by his brother, Larry Tiner

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra Tiner of Mineola; daughter, Vicki Dickerson and her husband Nathan of Mineola; brother, Johnny Tiner and his wife Marilyn of Kingman, AZ; sisters, Brenda Mitchell and her husband Gerald of Canton, Glenda Earl and her husband Dr. Earl of Tyler, TX; Nanci Duke and husband Ben of Grand Saline, TX and one granddaughter, Lauren Dickerson of Mineola.

Funeral services for Mr. Tiner are scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, January 4, 2016 at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Mineola with Dr. Mark Neeley officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers family has requested donations be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
