Sandra Lynn Blundell, also known as Sandy Walsh Blundell, Mama, or Mimi to those who loved her most, was born on June 17, 1947 in Dallas to Odis Dee Walsh and Margret E. Clay Walsh. She went to be with her Savior surrounded by loved ones on January 16, 2024.
Sandy pursued her education in cosmetology; from 1973 to 1980 she worked as a cosmetologist in Winnsboro. Sandy also loved to use her talents to serve those in nursing homes and ran a small business called “Have Scissors Will Travel.”
On November 13, 1973, Sandy married the love of her life, Benny Blundell. They shared many years building a life of love, memories, adventures, and practical jokes. We know they are both delighted to be reunited today.
Sandy devoted time, energy, and her gifts to serve others throughout her life. Words cannot express the joy she had in cultivating friendships and daily interceding on behalf of friends and family. She loved Jesus with all her heart, was a fierce prayer warrior, and served Him with her whole life.
Sandy and Benny built a beautiful life leaving a legacy of faith and love. Sandy is survived by her daughter Tonjua Shepherd and husband David, son Heath Blundell and wife Kristin, and son Michael “Boots” Blundell and wife Amanda. Her memory is cherished by her grandchildren Brittany, Beth and husband Tim, Brooke and husband Tom, Madyson and husband Caydon, Samantha and husband Nate, Elijah, and Easton. Also her great grandchildren: Eden, Ben, Magnolia, Sophia, Nya, Dax, Stetson, and Wilem.
Sandy Lynn will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Jesus, selfless servanthood, and deep love she shared with all who had the joy of knowing her.
