Obituary for Sandra (Seagler) Herrington, 84 years old, of Winnsboro, Texas went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2026 in Winnsboro, Texas.

Sandra was born in Littlefield, Texas on January 14, 1942, to Reagan and Essie Seagler. She spent her first 18 years on a cotton farm in the Bula-Enochs, Texas community in rural West Texas. She graduated from Bula High School in May of 1960. She attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico.

Sandra married the love of her life, Wayne Herrington on March 30, 1962 in Levelland, Texas. Shortly after they married, Wayne was drafted into the U.S. Army. For the next two years, they lived in Georgia and overseas in Germany. They lived in Lubbock, Texas until 1980 and then moved to East Texas. They lived in Tyler, Van, and finally settled in Winnsboro, Texas.

After Sandra raised her children, she felt God's calling to go back into the workforce. She became a Licensed Drug & Alcohol Counselor. She worked at Sundown Ranch in Canton, Texas, and also worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the prison in Winnsboro (The Clyde M. Johnston Unit) as a counselor & case manager, where she retired in 2007. She tried to instill in each of her clients that everyone deserved a second chance in life and she would use every opportunity to encourage a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sandra loved being a counselor and truly believed that this was God's will for her life. She was a proud American who loved her country as well as an avid sports fan and she proudly cheered on the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Cowboys.

Beyond her professional life, she was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved to attend worship and study the Bible. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro. She especially loved the ladies in her Sunday School Class and became good friends with many of them. Sandra enjoyed going to Winnsboro High Schools girl's basketball games, eating out, playing cards & dominos, shopping, as well as going on trips with her family and friends. We all enjoyed Sandra's fun loving and spunky personality and many of her friends and family members enjoyed picking on her. She was full of joy and would definitely make us all laugh! She also found great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she looked forward to spending time with them every chance she got. Her enduring faith sustained her throughout her life, right up to her passing away to be with her Lord and Savior.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Herrington, her parents Reagan and Essie Seagler, brother Charles Seagler, and sister JaNell Turner.

Sandra is survived by her daughter Tammy Davidson and husband Don, son Todd Herrington, five grandchildren Taylor Russell and wife Kate, Rachel Graf and husband Brian, Brandon Russell and wife Hailey, Amy Gage and husband Shayne, Sam Davidson and wife Nicolle.
She has six great grandchildren: Eloise and Clara Russell, Avery and Adelynn Davidson, Rylan and Caden Gage, and another great grandbaby on the way in a few months! She is also survived by a sister Nelda Lane and husband Royce, brother-in-law Terry Turner, sister-in-law Elaine Seagler. Additionally she would not want to fail to mention her numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Sandra leaves behind a rich family legacy and many bonds of friendship. Her life was a testament of her love and deep rooted Christian values which made a great impact on many of those around her. She was a beloved wife, devoted and loving mother, Nana and Great Nana, wonderful sister, aunt, mentor, counselor, friend and so much more. We will all miss her very much.
