It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Howle McCracken, a beloved matriarch, cherished friend, and devoted member of the community, who departed this life on May 18, 2026, in Farmersville, Texas, at the age of 82. Born to Kyle and Winnie Howle on July 25, 1943, in Winnsboro, Texas, Sandra lived a life filled with love, compassion, and a deep devotion to her family.
Sandra graduated from Winnsboro High in 1961 and TJC in 1962. She married Byrd McCracken on July 25, 1963.
Sandra dedicated nearly all her adult life to being a homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing environment for her family. She found joy in cooking, and her culinary talents were particularly evident in the delightful treats that brought her grandchildren together-her famed strawberry pie, buttermilk pie, and strawberry rhubarb pie remain fondly remembered. Her loving touch extended to her kitchen specialties, including delicious fried salmon patties, which delighted those who had the pleasure of sharing a meal with her.
In addition to her culinary skills, Sandra had a passion for nurturing her garden, where she reveled in the beauty of the flowers she cultivated. Her love for nature mirrored the love she so freely shared with her family, who adored her deeply. Sandra cherished her role as a grandmother, often surrounded by the laughter and joy of her grandchildren-Brieanna McCracken, Makayla Woods, Ian McCracken, Emma Rosengartner, and James Rosengartner.
Sandra's devotion to her family was matched only by her affection for her beloved cats, Buffy and Ellie, who brought companionship and joy to her life.
Left to honor her memory are her devoted husband, Byrd McCracken; her daughter, Marla Woods and husband Robert; son, Dr. Todd McCracken and wife Tina; brother, Ruel Howle and wife Jeannie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Kyle Howle, and her mother Winnie Darby Howle.
A Funeral Service will be held in her honor at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro on May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at 10:00 AM, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of Sandra's vibrant spirit and nurturing heart.
Following the service, Sandra will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove Cemetery 1293 County Road 4645, Winnsboro, Texas.
Her radiant spirit and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
