Obituary

Sandy Kay Wright, 76, of Mineola, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 23, 2026.

Sandy was born on August 25, 1949, in Mineola, Texas, to Preston and Carrie Bell Alexander. She was a devoted woman of faith and a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she found encouragement, friendship, and a church family she dearly loved.

Sandy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved quilting, crocheting, traveling, and never passed up the chance for competitive game of marbles. Above all, however, her greatest happiness came from her family. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild were the light of her life, and she delighted in every opportunity to love, encourage, and spoil them. Her family always came first, and she leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, kindness, and cherished memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Carrie Bell Alexander; and her husband Gary Wright. She is lovingly survived by her son, David Wright and wife, Maurie; daughters, Karen Olsen and husband, Rob; Stacy Treadway and husband, Don her brother, Ronnie Alexander and wife Nelda; her sister, Vicki Godwin and husband Gary; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, Sandy's faith, gentle spirit, and the love she poured into her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
