Scott Douglas Hayes, 59, of Mineola, Texas, passed away on October 20, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.
Scott was born on July 31, 1965 to Larry and Sandra Hayes in Fowler, California and Scott has one older brother, Larry. Scott graduated from Arcadia High School in 1983. In 1984, Scott met the love of his life, Tiffany Steffer, and they married in 1987 in California. Scott and Tiffany have three children, Nicholas, Carissa, and Lindsay. They have 6 grandchildren, Patrick, Elias, Quinn, Atticus, Madelyn, and Scarlett. Scott worked in the propane business for over 35 years while spending over 20 years at Suburban Propane. In 2022, Scott and Tiffany moved to Mineola, Texas, and Scott worked as the warehouse manager for Stitchin’ Heaven.
His hobbies were playing drums and guitar, riding his Harley, driving his little blue car, a 65 Shelby Cobra, traveling and quilting with his wife, listening to music, especially with his close friends, and enjoying time with his children and grandchildren. Scott is remembered as a sweet, loving, helpful, funny, protective, and kind friend to all.
Scott and Tiffany's motto in life inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, is to Preach the Gospel everyday. Use words if necessary.
He was predeceased by his mother, Sandra and father, Larry. He is survived by his wife Tiffany, his brother, Larry and wife Cathy, his children and their families, Nicholas and Ariana with children Patrick, Madelyn, and Scarlett, Carissa and Niccolo with children Elias and Quinn, and Lindsay and Austin with child Atticus.
His services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindale, Texas at 12 noon on November 2, 2024 followed by a blessing of the final resting place at Cedar Memorial Gardens in Mineola, Texas. There will be a celebration of Life at the Hickory Village Complex in Mineola at 2 pm. There will also be a rosary said in Scott’s honor at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday November 1, 2024 at 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Ronald McDonald House Charities which the family hold’s close to their hearts.
