Severine Kyles, a loving wife, stepmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the age of 88.

Severine was born on February 9, 1938, in Somerset, Pennsylvania, to John Lorenzo and Velma Viola Geisler. She was married to her beloved husband, Richard Kyles, for 52 years.
Before moving to Mineola in October of 1983 and becoming a faithful homemaker, Sevie lived in Townsend, Massachusetts, where she ran her own Bookkeeping business. Sevie had a giving heart and was always looking for ways to help others. She generously supported numerous charities and organizations throughout the years. She was also a devoted and active part of the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA), where she served as the editor of the CMA newsletter, The Circuit Rider, and the Bill Glass Motorcycle Ministries. Through her work and service, she touched the lives of many and contributed greatly to an organization she loved.

Sevie found great joy in quilting. Over the years, she lovingly made countless quilts, many of which she gifted to family, friends, and children's homes. She gifted a quilt to the Smith Chapel Methodist Church Ministries, which still hangs in the facility today. Each quilt was a reflection of her creativity, patience, and generous spirit. She was also an avid reader, with spy and mystery novels among her favorites. Sevie had a special love for cats, and a beloved tradition was shared with her sister-in-law, Rachel, who gave her a cat calendar every year. It was a simple tradition that brought Sevie great joy and became a treasured part of their relationship.

Sevie was preceded in death by her parents, John Lorenzo and Velma Viola Geisler; her beloved husband, Richard Kyles; her brother, Fredrick Dean Geisler; and her brother-in-law, John Kyles.
She leaves behind her stepdaughter, Kimberly Ann and husband Jim Miller; sister-in-law, Rachel Kyles; and many loving nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. Severine will be remembered for her generous heart, her love of family and friends, her service to others, her love of reading and quilting, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Sevie's memory.
