Sharon Dianne Melvin

January 15, 1953 — March 7, 2022

Sharon Dianne Melvin was born on January 15,1953 in Mineola, Texas. She left her Earthly home on March 7, 2022 at the age of 69, to be with her Lord and Savior. Sharon graduated from Mineola High School in 1971 where she was voted “Most Beautiful” by her senior class. She married her highschool sweetheart and together they built a wonderful life. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She got her Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce with Academic Distinctions. She enjoyed working at the Salesmanship Club Youth camp for many years helping troubled teens. She worked side by side with her husband to give guidance to her children that taught her girls how to walk and live in Christ.
Her accomplishments in life are far too many to list, however, her greatest one is her family. When her family thinks of their wife, mom, and grandmother the word love always comes to mind. She loved her family unconditionally. Sharon was a member of the Church of Christ and a faithful Christian throughout her entire life.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Avril and Thomas Scott of Mineola, and in laws Avis and Edward Melvin of Mineola.
She is survived by her husband Dick Melvin of 50 years, daughter Ashley Blackwell and husband Luke of Lindale, daughter Lindsey Melvin of Emory, daughter Jaime Jackson and husband BJ of Lindale. She has four grandsons, Kaleb, Liam, Jase, and Mason and two granddaughters, Kaleigh and Addyson. She is also survived by her sister Betty Samples of Van, sister Peggy Lea and husband Joe of Emory, brother Tommy Scott and wife Vicki of Mineola, sister in law Cheryl Tucker and husband Michael of Golden, sister in law Chelia Melvin, and too many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews to mention.
Sharon had been fighting leukemia since March of 2021 and the family would like to thank everyone who has been lifting prayers on her behalf. Because of your prayers, she achieved deep remission.
Visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola Tx, Monday March 14th from 6-8pm. Pallbearers are Copper Hall, Walter Williams, David Blaylock, Matt Smith, James Hathcoat and John Warren. Honorary Pallbearers are the Mineola High School Class of 1971.
In Lieu of Flowers, a scholarship fund has been set up in Sharon’s name. Donations can be made at Mineola Community Bank under the Sharon Melvin Memorial Scholarship Fund. To continue her legacy of always giving back, the scholarship will provide a graduating Senior the opportunity to advance their education.
