Sheila Nell Peck

Sheila Roop Peck, of Winnsboro, Texas, closed her eyes on earth and opened them up to see Heaven on February 26, 2023. She was born to Andy Cofer, Jr. and Mary Havens Cofer on March 5,1960 in Winnsboro delivered by Dr. Earl Stewart. Sheila had many loves such as tending to her flowers, dipping her toes in the water at a beach, and getting and giving hugs to her grandbabies. She attended and graduated from Trinity Valley Community College and worked a number of years in social services for both Community Action of Houston County and the Women's Shelter of Houston County. Ms. Peck was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Crockett. Sheila had a loving heart for people and when her children's friends needed food to eat or a place to feel welcomed she took care of them. Sheila was preceded in death by her granddaughter Brooklyn Roop and sisters Brenda Mayhugh and Renee' Cofer. Ms. Peck is survived by her sons J.C. Roop, Chris Roop (Casey); daughter Carissa Carter; step-daughter Christal Peck; parents Andy Cofer, Jr. and Mary Havens Cofer; grandchildren Bret Roop and Baylee Roop; sisters Judy Pullin and Cynthia Busby (Brian). Visitation will be Wednesday, March 1st at Beaty Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Bro. Ryan Burchett and Bro. David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service in Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers are J.C. Roop, Bret Roop, Chris Roop, Tommy Minton, Seth Busby, and Cobey Busby.
