Mr. Sherman Hoyce Smith passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at the age of 80. He was born on September 3, 1927 to the late Sherman A. Smith and Dorothy P. Hill Smith. Mr. Smith graduated from the North Hopkins High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII and also served in the 7th Infantry during the Korea Conflict. He worked for General Motors and was a Poultry Farmer for Bo Pilgrim where he worked as a Contract Broiler. He was a member of the V.F.W., the trail riders association, the Winnsboro Rodeo Association and was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. Mr. Smith married Mrs. Lawanda Joan Smith on September 25, 1948 and she preceded her in death on October 13, 1995. He was also preceded in death by her two brothers and his 2nd wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Watson Smith. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Glenn Gaddis of Winnsboro and Brenda and Danny Suiter of Winnsboro; four grandchildren, Brandy Suiter, Gregory Aaron Banks, Wesley Michael Banks and Tommy Suiter; three great grandchildren, Caleb Banks, Taylore Armstrong, Jett Jenkins and several nieces and nephews.
