Sherry Winterbauer Lynn left this world to join her Lord and Savior on October 20,2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 17, 1952 in Dallas, TX to the late Hudson Charles (Bud) Winterbauer and Joy (Swann) Winterbauer.
She was a 1970 Winnsboro High School graduate and a lifelong resident of Winnsboro after college. She attended East Texas State University in Commerce where she was a proud member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. After receiving her BS from ETSU in 1978, she returned to Winnsboro and taught Special Education at WHS for many years. She later found her calling and most precious life’s work at Child Protective Services of Wood County where she served the children and communities of East Texas for over 20 years in various capacities including the Education Specialist for Region 4&5 position she held when she retired.
Sherry was a loving wife and mother and a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, a member of the local book club, she liked flower gardening, bird watching, “WORDLE” & other brain games, binge watching Christmas movies on Hallmark, but mostly she loved spoiling her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Hudson Charles Winterbauer; Step-Father, James D. Walsh; sister Vicki Jane Winterbauer, and her husband Richard Lynn.
She is survived by her loving mother Joy Walsh, Sister Lori Walsh, brothers Kim Winterbauer of Winnsboro and Rick Hancock of Seattle, WA Her children April Arrington, Eric Arrington & wife Shanna Of Winnsboro. Step children Rick Lynn & wife Amy of Sulphur Springs, Robert Lynn and wife Crystal of Winnsboro, Christi Paliani and husband Joseph of Hugo, nine grandchildren, Ethan Arrington, Chance Arrington, Bryson Lynn, Brendan Lynn, Branson Lynn, Colton Lynn, Aaron Green, Heather Paliani, Amber Paliani and five great grandchildren.
A service of celebration will take place Saturday, November 4th at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of Beaty Funeral Home in
Winnsboro, Bro. Nub Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Wood County Rainbow Room/ Wood County Child Welfare & Protection Board which was Sherry’s place of choice.
