Shirley Ballew

Shirley Ballew, a lifelong resident of Mineola, TX passed unexpectedly on November 4, 2019 at the age of 57 after a short battle with cancer. Shirley is survived by her husband Lacey E. Ballew. Her children; son Russell Ballew Sr. and daughter-in-law Christina, son Jackey Ballew and daughter-in-law Rachel; her eleven grandchildren, Russell Jr., Jacob, Damion, Kaylee, Matthew, Brandon, Abbie, Temperance, Titus and Hannah Ballew; sister, Elsie Shurbert; brother, James Burge and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, J.H. Burge Sr. and mother, Mary a Shanks Burge; brother, J.H. Burge, Jr. and sisters, Delphia J. Burge and Sarah Burge. Shirley was born in Mineola on November 7, 1961 to J.H. Burge and Mary Burge. She was the youngest of their combined eight children. On March 9, 1979 she married Lacey E. Ballew. They later welcomed their two sons. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. There was not anything that she would not do for those around her. she was a truly selfless and remarkable woman who also put others needs above her own. A funeral service is set for November 9, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola with Bro. Ronnie Polley officiating.
