Surrounded by family, Shirley J. Griffin, 78, of Winnsboro, Texas passed away on July 23, 2015. You could always find Shirley with friends and family sporting the biggest smile on her face. She will be truly missed by those who called her family, friend, boss or neighbor. She and Bill married in Lancaster, Texas in 1981. Later they moved to Winnsboro where they owned a very successful local restaurant. After retiring, she then lived the remainder of her life here in her hometown. Shirley is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Griffin of Winnsboro; son Tony & wife Ronda Welborn of McKinney; son Mark & wife Shelly Griffin of Winnsboro; two granddaughters (her pride & joy) Jacquelyn "J.J." and Kaylan Griffin of Winnsboro and son, Mike Griffin of Rockwall. Her siblings all from Winnsboro include, Kay & husband Jerry Coffer, Cookie & husband Gary Duncan, Doris Bolt, William & wife Rita Bearden and J.W. Bearden, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Welborn and brother, Kenneth Hass. Visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:00 am at Walnut Street Baptist Church. The family would like to thank everyone for keeping Shirley in their prayers during her recent illness. She truly felt each & everyone of them.
