Shirley Mae Hudman

Shirley Mae Mayes Hudman age 94 of Hainesville, Texas passed away Friday, December 8. Funeral services will be

held Tuesday, December 12 th at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, Texas. Her pastor, Brother Terry Davis will

officiate.

Visitation will be at 1:00 PM and services will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Concord Cemetery, Hainesville, Texas.

Shirley was born on October 13, 1929 in Sikes, Louisiana to Curt and Maude Mayes.

Shirley was raised in Sikes, Louisiana and met the love of her life, Barney through her brother Quinton. The two were married on June 9, 1946 and were devoted to each other for 56 years until his passing in 2002.

Shirley was a determined Baptist and loved her Savior. She was a member of Hainesville Baptist Church and served

many years as an Adult Sunday School Teacher.

Shirley was a Social Worker for Wood County Housing and Urban Development Corporation where she was instrumental

in meeting the needs of many East Texas families. She was also a member of the Wood County Peace Officers Association alongside Barney and their daughter, Sandra.

Shirleys most important accomplishment was her seven beautiful children, six daughters and one son.

Shirley is survived by Evelyn Williams, Ramona Fagan, Greta Godfrey, Bernadine Corley and Ben Hudman.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Barney and daughters Miriam Hudman and Sandra Humphreys.

Deacons of the Hainesville Baptist Church are honored to serve as pallbearers.
