Obituary for Sonja Kay Anderson

Sonja Kay Anderson, age 65, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 10, 1960, in Arlington, Texas, Sonja led a life devoted to her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.

Sonja was a devoted spouse to her husband, Paul Anderson, and a proud mother to her sons, Paul, Jr. and Bryan Anderson, and daughters, Tiffany Tovar and husband, Max and Catherine Anderson. She was also a cherished sister to Regina Holmes. In addition to her immediate family, Sonja was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Joe Murphy and Deloris Randolph Murphy.

Prior to her retirement, Sonja served as a housekeeping supervisor at Heritage Nursing Home in Quitman, Texas, where her dedication to the well-being of others was evident in her work. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, often spending her time crafting, playing bingo, and, most importantly, creating lasting memories with her loved ones.

A graveside service in honor of Sonja Kay Anderson will be held on Monday February 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Smyrna Cemetery. Prior to the service, family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
