Sue Yvonne Swann, lovingly known to many as Yvonne, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on April 21, 1938, in Winnsboro, Texas, to George Everett Coston and Ruby Lena Bass Coston, and spent her childhood in the same close-knit community she cherished throughout her life.

Yvonne married the love of her life, Arvel J. Swann, on December 4, 1954. Together, they built a home filled with faith, love, discipline, and laughter. A devoted homemaker and mother, Yvonne's life was a testament to selfless service and unwavering care for her family and community. A woman of deep faith and joyful spirit, Yvonne was a longtime and faithful member of Pineview Baptist Church.  She played the piano with grace and sang in a beloved gospel quartet, using her musical gifts to uplift others.  As a youth leader, she touched countless lives with her compassion, guidance, and steady presence.  Her disciplined yet loving nature made her a trusted mentor and role model to many young people in the church. Yvonne had a deep appreciation for nature and found peace in bird watching and quiet moments outdoors.

She also had a fondness for collecting anything adorned with chickens, a small, joyful passion that reflected her warm and spirited personality. Of all her joys in life, none were greater than spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her endless delight and laughter.  Yvonne's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on through the many lives she touched.  Her gentle strength, unwavering devotion, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She is survived by her children: sons Ricky Swann and his wife, Debbie, and Scott Swann and his wife, Tammy; daughter, Sheilah Todd and her husband, Roy; six grandchildren, Daniel Swann, Dustin Swann, Chris Swann, Hunter Swann, Justin Mullino, and Kelsey McLean; great-grandchildren, Cody Swann, Haley Swann, Capri Swann, Kaleb Mullino, Eloise McLean, and William McLean; and great-great-grandchildren, Brylee, Edon, Everleigh, and Brayden.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Arvel J. Swann; her parents, George Everett and Ruby Lena Coston; and all of her siblings: brothers George Ray Coston, Hollister Joe Coston, “Burt” Waitzel Merle Coston, and Wilbert Lee Coston; and her sister Deloris Wynez Bane.

Pallbearers will be Chris Swann, Hunter Swann, Dustin Swann, Danny Swann, Justin Mullino, and Gary Bailey.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed." - Proverbs 31:28
