Tambra Lynn Green’s biggest dream for her life, she always said, was to be a mom. She left this world to be with her savior on December 15, 2023, as the best mom two girls could ask for, adoring grandmother to Alden and Emmett Miller, loving wife to Jerry Green, the silliest and most fun aunt to so many, a great great aunt, supportive sister, a savvy business owner, a world traveler, and a most beloved daughter.
She was born to Gregory and Rebecca Moore on May 12, 1971. After graduating from high school—a “savage” basketball player, according to credible sources—she made the move to Texas: a decision that would become legacy for the family with many joining her in the Lonestar State. She was surrounded by family, friends, and community in Mineola, TX, for her final years on this earth.
Her influence was natural; her confidence in who she was, what she believed, and her purpose in this world was unmistakable. She loved spending her days on the beach with Jerry, especially with a European-set murder mystery novel and a comfy chair. She blew everyone away at trivia, puzzles, and the pop culture buzz of the moment—many of her healing days spent with her parents, schooling them at every game show, and saying things like, “You seriously didn’t know Kevin Costner was in that movie?” She loved her church, Church Unlimited, in Corpus Christi, TX—they gave her hope in the midst of the gravest diagnosis, they reminded her of the truth that with Jesus we are never alone in our trials. She loved her daughters, Lindsey and Victoria, averaging on three phone calls a day—both outgoing and receiving—even before the diagnosis, just to chat. She was a fierce friend, protector of her family, and a faithful daughter of the King. She asked each of her doctors and nurses, even in her very last days, if they knew Jesus. She clung so fervently to the truth and hope of God’s grace; even as her body was fading, her heart beat the same. She wanted everyone to experience the peace that comes from knowing Jesus, the peace that sustained her.
Many obituaries note that people have lost their battle to cancer. Technically, Tammy’s pancreatic cancer did eventually return from a period of stagnancy and overcome her body (just two days shy of two years from her initial diagnosis—an achievement she does not want to be overlooked, by the way!). However, in her last weeks, she declared with full confidence that this is not a defeat: the battle against death has been won for her. She fearlessly and eagerly entered the arms of her savior; she is at peace.
Tammy was predeceased by her grandparents, Cliff & Delma Moore and Kenneth & Virginia Stock as well as her uncles, George Moore and Mike Moore. She is survived by her loving partner, Jerry; her daughters and son-in-law, Victoria Hart and Lindsey & Derek Miller; her grandchildren, Alden and Emmett Miller; her parents, Greg and Becky Moore; her sisters and sister-in-law, Michelle Fischer, Amy Blackwell, and Leslie Vogeli, along with their families; beloved aunts and uncles, many loyal friends, and so many other cherished members of her extended family.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10am on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Harvest Acres Baptist Church in Mineola, TX. All are welcome to remember and honor Tammy’s life.
