Ted Dwayne Darland

Ted Dwayne Darland, age 80, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, July 9, 1930 in Vernon, Texas to the late J.B. and Gladys Darland.

He had a Master's Degree and was a teacher, coach and principal for the Irving ISD where he was employed for 20 years. He attended Holly Tree Chapel and was a member of the Men's Golf Association. He loved playing guitar, singing, crossword puzzles and golfing. The scenery, competition and 11 hole in ones made him fall in love with golf. He was an all around athelete.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Darland of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; a daughter, DeAnn Darland Sills and husband Tommy of Lewisville, Texas; a son Dwain T. Darland and wife Lorie of Plano, Texas; two brothers Bill Darland of Burkburnett, Texas and J.B. Darland of Wichita Falls, Texas; three sisters, Peggy Whisnand of Iowa Park, Texas, Bobbie Marshall of Saginaw, Texas, Fran Potts of Burkburnett, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Beaty Funeral Home in Hawkins, Texas on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 6 - 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Holly Tree Chapel on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ronnie Lawson and Mr. Gary Marshall officiating.
