Teresa Charlene Castillo

Teresa Charlene Castillo, aged 60, died January 19, 2022, at her home in Point, Texas, after a year and a half courageous battle with cancer. Teresa was born on May 05, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas to Nellie Clem and Charles Rea. They moved to Plano, Tx. where she attended and graduated from Plano High School. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Brookhaven College in Farmers Branch, Texas in May 1995. Teresa worked as an ICU nurse and nurse preceptor at various Hospitals around the DFW metroplex for 27 years. She was happily married to Daniel Castillo, her partner in life, for 38 years at the time of her death. Besides spending time with her family, Teresa had a passion for gardening, traveling, tending to her small farm, and trying new things. Teresa was a courageous, vibrant, daring woman. She was a natural caretaker and thrived in her career, teaching others and leading them by example. She touched so many lives with her kindness, generosity, and love of life. Teresa is survived by her husband Daniel Castillo; daughters Amanda Rue and husband Eric Colby, Anita Castillo; 3 grandsons Christopher Rue, Shaun Rue, and Eli Colby; brother Daniel Rea; sister Deborah Rea; nephew Walden Rea, and niece Haven Rea. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25th from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the First Assembly of God in Mineola. The funeral will follow beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Williams officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
