Thomas A. Houdek

Thomas A Houdek, age 72, of Alba Texas, passed away on July 11, 2021. He was born December 16, 1948 in Maui, Hawaii to the late Thomas Houdek Sr. and Cecilia Maria Kinores Houdek.
Thomas was retired from the U.S. Army and served as a Sgt. in the Vietnam War. He was the Postmaster at the United Sates Post Office in Quitman, Texas for many years. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather, as well as an avid fisherman.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diane Madden. He is survived by his spouse of 44 years, married on September 11,1976 to Deborah Houdek of Alba-Golden, Texas; son, Thomas Houdek of Alba-Golden, Texas; daughter, Heather Houdek of Alba-Golden, Texas; brothers, Leroy Houdek of Indiana; two sisters, JoAnne Hrizak (Joe) of Lombard, Illinois and Charlotte Lhota of Willowbrook, Illinois; three grandchildren, Cynthia Ojeda of Marshall, Texas, Venessa Villarreal of Alba - Golden, Texas, Michael Green of Alba - Golden, Texas; mother-in-law, June Clement of Quitman, Texas; sister-in-law, Janet Kazak of Frisco, Texas.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, come and go. Funeral service will be on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola, TX with Bro. Fred Morrow conducting.
Interment will following in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola, TX.
