Thomas Mccarley

Thomas "Eddy" McCarley, age 69 of Winnsboro, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 in Mt. Pleasant. Eddy was born on August 8, 1951 in Farmersville, Texas to the late B.D. McCarley and Bobbie Jean McCarley of Winnsboro Eddy was a member of the Winnsboro Church of Christ, a Retired Dallas Firefighter Second Driver Engineer, where he served for 33 years. He also was in the U.S. Air Force Reserve where he received The Naval Commendation Medal for Bravery for rescuing Naval Fighter Pilots from a burning plane. He was preceded in death by his father, B.D. McCarley in 2018. He is survived by his mother, Bobbie McCarley of Winnsboro; his loving wife, Joyce McCarley of 47 years; son, Shawn Thomas McCarley and wife, Michelle of Cookville; sister and brother, Susie and Jeff Zimmerman of Winnsboro and four grandchildren, Ty Thomas McCarley, Colby Henigan and family, Cassity Henigan and family, and Callie Jo Thompson. Brief visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Lee Cemetery Highway 37 S. Winnsboro, TX 75494. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 pm. with Brother Gerald Elliott officiating. Longtime friend, Shannon Davis will speak. Family and friends are welcome to meet at Beaty Funeral Home 816 W. Broadway in Winnsboro at 12:45 to participate in the procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnsboro Church of Christ.
