Thomas William McQueen, age 82, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Quitman, Texas. He was born on Thursday, March 6, 1930 in Yantis, Texas to the late William and Ruby McQueen. He was a small engine mechanic and attended Central Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the out doors. He was always giving “good” advice.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters; six brothers, five sisters and one grandchild.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Thelma McQueen of Mineola, Texas; two sons, Larry McQueen and wife Ava of Hawkins, Texas and Mike McQueen and wife Susan of Quitman; a daughter, Melanie White and husband Mitchell of Mineola; three brothers, Willie Earl McQueen and wife Nannie Jo of Emory, Texas, Connie McQueen of Emory and Russell McQueen and wife Helen of Arkansas; four sisters, Dorothy Isernia and husband John, Kay Roberts of Wills Point, Texas, Kathy Turner of Greenville, Texas and Maggie West of Grand Prairie, Texas; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. McQueen will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6 – 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Merle Parker officiating.
Interment will be at Holland Family Cemetery in Yantis.
